Britt Bern is a renowned and internationally acclaimed
opera singer.
Born in Stockholm Sweden, where she was a child protégé
and known to the Swedish public at the age of eleven.
Before her 18th birthday she had toured the European countries
as a concert singer and appeared on both radio and television
in conjunction with the tour.
Accepted at prestigious Akademi vor Musik und Darstellende
Kunst -Mozarteum - in Salzburg Austria and only six months
into her studies she was selected to be the soloist in the
world renowned yearly "Mozart Woche Festival".
She appeared along side such famous musicians as conductor
Herbert von Karajan and singer Victoria de los Angeles.
The Austrian press called her "the new Maria Callas" for
her singing and "Brigitte Bardot look-alike" for her beauty.
At 21, she was the youngest soprano ever to make her debut
at one of the leading opera houses in the world: the Vienna
State Opera as "Blondchen" in "The Abduction of the Seralj"
by Mozart.
Miss Bern sang sixty-five leading soprano roles at most
major European opera houses for the next fifteen years.
She decided to return to Sweden where she sang musical comedy
and toured as a concert singer.
She made her American debut at Carnegie Hall in New Your
in the late sixties. With her vocal heritage trained by
teachers such as Maestro Alessandro Giuresco, Vienna - whose
teacher was Benjamin O’Gigli and whose star is to be found
at the walk of fame in Hollywood - Professor Ena Thiessen,
Salzburg and Madame Andrejewa von Skilondz Stockholm and
Moscow, she is without a doubt one of the leading and most
outstanding vocal teachers of our time.
Miss Bern splits her time between Seattle, Los Angeles
and the Euorpean arena. |
